a delightful package all the way from Finland!

My goodness!  Writing my blog this year has brought me such lovely new friends and the latest interesting, generous and friendly soul I’ve met is Anne who hails from Finland.  I am truly blessed!

Dear Tine over at Sodeste had received a darling packet of Moomin fabric - from Anne - and I left a comment admiring it.  Well, the next thing, Anne emailed me to say she still had some Moomin fabric left and would love to swap it for some indigenous Australian fabric for an Around the World Quilt she’s planning.

Little A - Moomin fan extraordinaire - was beside herself with glee so I sent Anne our snail mail address and in no time at all, a marvellous package of goodies arrived all the way from Finland.

Did it make our day - in the midst of moving - to unpack these treasures!  There was the promised Moomin joy …

and, for Little A, the piece de resistance - a Little My towel, which has now become her most favourite bath towel.  Little My is Little A’s all time favourite Moomin character and indeed, one of our new guinea pigs shares the eccentric and fiesty critter’s name.

Dear Anne,

I have not sent you a heartfelt thankyou email because since moving, my email is completely buggered (excuse the vulgar Australian colloquialism!).  I don’t think I’m receiving all my email and I certainly cannot send ANY!  So, here is my thankyou!

The package arrived safely and promptly and was received with much joy!  Thank you so much for your thoughtful generosity - we cannot wait to make a lovely quilt from the fabric and so appreciate the insight into Finnish life.  We have bundled together some goodies from Australia and are sending them off tomorrow so hope they arrive asap.

Hope you are enjoying your summer holiday and making the most of those school free days as you stitch, paint and craft your way through that lovely to do list!
