almost forty hexagons …

well not yet. These are some of the hexagons I have produced from my 2 inch chops of the civil war fabric.

Strips ready for slicing along the 60 degree line of my ruler - it’s the coolest thing and just such a shame they didn’t teach geometery via patchwork in Year 9 - would have made a lot more sense!

This gives you a bowl full of triangles …

which I then stitch into half hexagons of three, so that I may later sew them up in rows and thus avoid set in seams.

I haven’t yet decided whether to put a “background” triangle in between each hexagon or turn them one way and then the other. The later option makes it look very rich and moooshy which is lovely. But then I saw the former option and it looked more spare and elegant. I’ll wait and see.
