Months and months and months ago, I was playing around with making soft kokeshi dolls.  The first one was okay, the second one was a little bit strange, and the third one has been languishing in the cut out stage since February.

Abigail, in lovely daughter style, thinks any stuffed toy I make is worthy of her delight and love, so yesterday I pulled out Number 3 and stitched her up for Abigail’s birthday.

And I must say, after the prettiness of the finished pillowcase and the flat evidence laying here before me, I was on a stitching high!

Until I stitched her up and pulled her out the right way.  Strange things happened to that lovely round head.  Things that I am at a loss to explain – maybe it was when I trimmed away what I thought was excess hair.  Hmmm …. that might have been it.

At the moment, this dolly looks more like the evil Vizir from the Disney version of Aladdin.  I don’t know whether I should share her – either with you or Abigail – maybe I should just start again.

But she looked so cute laying flat!!!!!   AAAAARRRRRGHHHHHH!!!
