lotte’s home
2012
Ah! Lotte’s not had her own place to call home since we left the tumbledown cottage in Norman Park – over four years ago. Some of that time was spent in storage boxes. The rest, piled into cupboards, utterly out of sight, often out of mind, and altogether unnoticed.
Now, it’s only one more day sweet Lotte, before you’ll have your own special sideboard. With a richly glowing patina. A pea green backdrop for your glossy whiteness. And a spot right beside the front door. The sun will shine in on you. I will see you each time I come home. You’ll be easily retrieved for special dinners. You’ll inspire special dinners!
And with birthdays and Christmas just around the corner, it is indeed your time to truly shine sweet Lotte.
Just the door frames and drawers to finish scrubbing and one more coat of pea green. I still have 3 whole days to go before he who is not keen on shuffling furniture is home!

Ah yes, I remember that Lotte design. I seem to remember my lovely sister in law had the complete dinner set, not really sure though. Really sweet. Now this is a lovely pieceof furniture and those etched glass panelled doors. This one will look stunning. You must be sooo tired with all this restoring.
Blessings Gail
What a gorgeous piece! The green is so pretty. Lotte will love her new home.
A post purely about giving Lotte a special home? Best post ever :)
Crikey, you are keeping yourself busy and aren’t you? You must be exhausted and Julian is probably turning grey as he reads each post! Good luck getting it all back in order…
Lotte definitely deserves a home of her own. I love the way the pattern can go with blue, purple and now green too. Did you see the Christmas embroidery Pip Lincoln did based on the Lotte Pattern a few years ago?
