~ loveliness found ~ 11/52
2013
if you would like to share your ~loveliness found~ moments from this week
… & I would so love it if you did …
please leave them in the comments or share a link to your place!
~ making some time to put one little square of fabric with another
& finding just as much prettiness in the finished piece’s
thickly layered seams as the richly pieced front ~
~ marvelling over clouds that look as if they’ve been made of
a good, stiff icing & then piped into place ~
~ allowing the peace of knitting to soothe my frazzled nerves ~
~ full of awe and admiration for Abby’s latest crafty experiments
this time, iron on paper transfers ~
~ so grateful for my lovely, lovely Julian who has spent the best part
of his weekend scanning in hundreds of my funny old family photos
providing me with heaps of giggles and lovely moments of “ohhhh ...” ~
~ after twelve days of everything Australian, we celebrate the end of a lovely
homestay experience with a little bit of local Japanese ~
~ making the most of long drives in the car, very much needed airconditioning
& obliging/long suffering daughters ~
~ giving thanks for an afternoon of good drenching rain,
whilst enjoying the warmly lit cosiness of inside ~
~ relishing the creativity shared in this bloggy community
… Kate’s new/vintage Swedish folk art book …
& dreaming of ways to interpret such quirkiness ~
~ the feathered girls swoon over homemade pesto pasta for breakfast,
& I almost cry with relief/joy that they have recovered
enough of their oomph to lay an egg ~
~ putting a pair of abandoned/lost thongs to good use
on a late evening, soft, grey beach wander ~

My loveliness today was actually my stop here! I am not a time waster..quite the contrary, but I have totally done pretty much nothing creative today and will surely regret it tomorrow, when I have to focus on editing medical dictations. Maybe I should work on my stitching while the sun is bright..have a great day, Lily!
Oh there”s a good look for you !!!!black stockings with thongs…..what a hoot.I tend to wear footless tights or leggins, as my feet get too hot, there are some great colours and patterns about.
Good to see the “girls” are back to laying, they might be happy to have a chooky tonic after their experience.
Did your guest get to make a quilt to take home, or did you run out of time?
My loveliness was yesterday, raiding the Monte Carlo of verges here in South Perth.
Found a lovely sixties wood and metal set of pigeonholes for my partner’s home office, and on the way back from picking it up, found a matching desk in wonderful condition only a block away, then a nearly brand new hooded barbeque on the way home from that!. Nephew kindly wheeled the BBQ home and the desk was at least 2/3 out of the car on the very slow and sedate drive home. You know how it is.
I scored a potted geranium (wonder what colour it will be?) and this morning in an op-shop, a pair of soft and comfortable grey linen pants, which someone has delightfully trimmed with red blanket stitch around the hems and pockets – bliss!
Hope the hormonal tides are receding for now.
