… Julian called to me
“come sit by me whilst I cook”
so with needlework in hand, I did.
… our dinner sizzled
our daughter waited
our table was set
… even the battered and weathered
looked oh so pretty
in the long, gold tipped shadows,
on a hot summer’s eve.
I am Lily Boot – mother to Abigail, wife to Julian, student nurse, passionate reader, quilter, embroiderer, knitter and sewist, handy in the kitchen and around the house, reasonably handy with a camera, but pretty hopeless in the garden.
Here at block-a-day I chronicle our days – and my stitching obsession – in a way that I hope will delight us when we are old and grey and wobbly of memory. And maybe it will delight and inspire you too :-)
I love to read your comments – such a lovely way to connect with kindred spirits – and endeavour to answer questions within the day’s comment section.
I can be contacted at lily (at) blockaday (dot) com. Thanks for visiting!
