frangipani

The leaves are tumbling from the frangipani tree – each day we see a little more of our neighbours – and yet it is so warm – that’s right, I’m talking sleeveless shirt with the fan blowing right on me.

american-girls

Yep, the weather here is still so summery, the American girls are taking a kayaking holiday!

[ Can I just say how much I ADORE my dear child playing with her friend Sacha - they have been playing - really playing - lego, Sylvanian Families, Playmobil, American Girls - non-stop since lunchtime yesterday. I am a HUGE supporter of playing - there is just not enough! I hope my dear little girls play for many years more ]

summery-fabrics

So I’ve decided to bundle up some of this summery sunshine and send it off to a dear friend who must be well and truly over what her cooler, snowy climes are delivering.

pillow-case

Especially some cheerful pillowcases – surely when you lay your head on these you’ll be rewarded with dreams of spring flowers and soft breezes :-).

edge

I love a crisp edge.  This is a variation on my standard pillowcase – instead of simply having the contrasting band sewn flat onto the pillowcase body, I’ve folded it in half and only sewn it in 1/4 inch.

And have I ever mentioned that I am an ardent lover of white cotton rick-rack?  I have, haven’t I.  Oh my, it makes me swoon!

Tomorrow I need to fill an apron with balminess and then off it will go, spreading the warmth of Kangaroo Point – and hopefully leaving us a wee bit cooler!
