six random quirks

pile of parcels

Good morning! There’s no coffee in the hopper (yeah, yeah, laugh Amy laugh!), the table of creation (dining table) is a mess, there are MORE things on my to do list (aaargh!) but I’ve been tagged by Tine over at Sodeste. :-)

Isn’t this blog thing just so good! Every week I meet lovely, talented and inspiring people from all over the world! Cool! (note all the exclamation marks - must be my heightened sense of nervous tension from lack of coffee).

my first package from z and s

So here’s six random quirks about me, and then you go check out Tine’s lovely sewing (Susie, you will love her felt food) …

1. I must match the pegs on the washing line - no, I don’t need to use all pink for underwear, all blue for shorts, etc. - but an item of clothing or linen must have the same colour pegs. Makes hanging out the washing in the dark difficult so I try to avoid this.

2. I cannot hop into bed with washing my feet - this meant sitting on the edge of the bath each night and washing away until I realised I could use nappy wipes - excellent idea and means I can wipe them down whilst sitting on the edge of my bed (oh dear, now I’m sounding a bit mad!)

3. I still drink milk each night with my dinner - even when we have guests - I looooove milk and we buy a beautiful organic, full cream milk from a nearby farm which has the lovliest head of cream which means Little A and I squabble over who’s going to have the first glass.

4. My mum changed my birthdate on my school application so I could start when I was 4 - this meant some aunties thought my birthday was in February (nope, it’s March!) for years, and I was only 16 when I finished school.

5. I played the oboe in the school orchestra - and sounded like a duck. After one concert, my piano teacher came up and told me how much she had enjoyed my playing to which I replied snitchily and in front of everybody, ” well I don’t know how, I only pretended!” Took us a while to talk to each other again :-0

6. I am a Catholic school girl - had pictures of the pope on the side of my wardrobe as a little girl, pink rosary beads, and coveted a glow in the dark statue of Mary. Not really a practicing Catholic now, but am sure that years and years of horrendous stories of young women allowing themselves to be stabbed with pitchforks for their faith has contributed to my firm belief that one has to be CAREFUL in life.

gorgeous books
Hey that wasn’t hard - I could think of at least 20 more! But I won’t bore you :-)

So here’s the rules:

1: link to the person that tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

rich treats
And here’s my list of people tagged Una, Amy, Louise, Not-so-fancy-Nancy - I was going to add Susie but she did this the other day - so Elizabeth and Maria.

Have fun!

Yum! I want to come over to your house and have milk with dinner! I’ll unfortunately have to bring my Lactaid so I can digest it.

I wonder if the clean feet at bedtime has anything to do with being a Catholic schoolgirl. Something about washing feet must have stuck with you.

Lily, I have just one question: which of your lovely parcels do I stand to win by being tagged???? :-b

How funny having so many parcels arrive at once! My husband got quite a shock when the delivery man came to our garage door entrance like one of our friends! The poor delivery man got a bigger fright when Darryl answered! Darryl did notice that the delivery guy and I engaged in friendly catching up chit chat. Pair of old mates that we are :)
