smooshed strawberries

We’re well and truly into the glut of the strawberry season here in Brisbane - so I bought a kilo of the gorgeous things yesterday and smooshed them all up in the blender.

I only trimmed them - the guinea heifers love strawberry tips, not the berries, just the leaves, so they had a feast too - washed them in my fastidious organic fruit and vegetable wash, and then blitzed them to a fabulous thick, crimson pulp.

Into some Mason jars (don’t you just love Mason jars with the measurements on the side!) and one into the fridge, the rest into the freezer.

We’ve been using them instead of jam and swirling them through our yogurt.  Divine!
