the day is done
2011
The night outside is fierce and dark – full of gusty wind and drumming rain – but inside all is quiet and warm.
One sock is finished and on the foot …

Whilst standing at the stove stirring, the other sock’s wee stitches have been picked back up to work into a heel …

One of our footpath thrifted lamps (the base is from Brisbane hard rubbish and the shade was left on the footpath outside our house a couple of months ago – someone must have known it would receive a warm welcome!) is re-wired and glowing oh so prettily …

We have cups of steamy rice pudding to warm our hands, burn our tongues and fill our bellies …

And Tim Burton’s Alice to watch …

I love nights like this.

Sounds like an amazing evening. Hope you enjoy.
Ooooh, how lovely! I always leave with a warmed heart after I’ve read your blog :)
Sounds cozy and wonderful! You need to write a book about hard rubbish. You manage to find the most amazing things. We can do a TV show! Lily’s Rubbush World! ;)
