the yo-yo trick
Gosh you know, once I learn a new trick, I just cannot stop repeating it …. over and over and over … such is my love of making yo-yos at the moment :-)
And then there’s the whole lamp trick - ooooh!
So, Abigail left yesterday for a week’s camping with her gorgeous friend Sacha, and I got to sit in bed this morning until 11am - making yo-yos. That was definitely the time-consuming part. Then in a flash, they migrated to an old Ikea lampshade and here we are …
The yo-yo lamp, mark II.
I love how all the old favourites from my stash nestle so prettily beside the sweet embroidery.
Now I just need Julian to re-wire this particular lamp - the base is from a second hand shop and after working nicely for a few years, recently gave up.

The lamp looks beautiful with the added yo-yos. I like the ideas you get, I love making yo-yos, but I have such a hard time finding use for them. Lol!

Lovely little lamp! Did you embroider the cloth on the shade?

they look great! I love yoyos, they’re definitely addictive!

The lamp is so cute with added yo-yos–the perfect enhancement! I was going to make yo-yos on our car trip but didn’t have time to pick out the colors I wanted. That is probably more time consuming than actually making the yo-yos. :-)

Boy… wish I had an “old Ikea lamp” like that! It doesn’t even need yo-yos to be adorable.. but they make it even more so!

Hi, Lily !
Some time ago I had asked if you would share your French Hen face cloth pattern in exchange for some of my hand crafted soap ! I would so love it as we keep chickens - I would send you some fresh eggs but they would not be fresh or in one piece by the time they got to you !
I really enjoyed looking at all your posts and the beautiful things you sew.
Have a blessed New Year and I hope to hear from you !!!
Thank you !
Sincerely,
Gail Kidder

What is it about yo-yos? If I make one, I end up making dozens. They’re so addictive. I love your lampshades! Such a great idea.
Happy New Year! Love your blog!
