I am Lily Boot - mother to Abigail, wife to Julian, student midwife, passionate reader, quilter, embroiderer, knitter and sewist, handy in the kitchen and around the house, reasonably handy with a camera, but pretty hopeless in the garden.

We dream of living amongst green, rolling hills near the sea in a built-by-us barnhome with our chickens, a cow for milk, a wee herd of alpacas for fleece, a vegie garden and a wee orchard. I will care for those in our local community. Julian will build and tinker and create. Abby will draw and continue to grow ... and who knows what else!

Meanwhile, here at block-a-day I chronicle our days - and my stitching obsession - in a way that I hope will delight us when we are old and grey and wobbly of memory. And maybe it will delight and inspire you too :-)
