we’re aiming for 25 after all

Stockings that is!
They are so addictive and I’m really getting into a groove with their patterns – the more I do, the more refined I am about what I want – what colours, what layouts – so I couldn’t possibly stop at 12 – the Christmas stocking garland will be this year’s Advent Calendar. It’s a marvellous creative learning experience.
After 9, I’ve even memorised their outline … down 8, 2, 2, 1, 1, across 2, across 16, back up 3, 3, 2 …
I will make a covered number button for each one, and hide one around the house each night for Abigail to find in the morning and add to the … last year we had an Advent Calendar tree for the tomtems. Not sure what we’ll have for the stockings – will have to put my thinking cap on for that.

So I’ve ditched the first red one – it needs to be completely reworked – and here are the finished ones thus far …
These red trees were my favourite, until I stitched this red bird …
Here’s a pretty candlestick …
And a curious one that looks more like a Ukranian Easter Egg … but my mum says it’s her favourite …
and a colour combination that is reminiscent of a wooden Advent Calendar Julian and I made for Abigail a few years ago – with 25 little pigeonholes, each filled with a piece of the Playmobile Nativity scene.
Five done, four more in progress, 16 more to dream up. I shall include 4 with our initials (this includes Simon of course!), and a few with stripes and argyles, and who knows what else shall pop up.
Still working on the patterns – oh the joys of OmniGraffle – at least I think that’s what it’s called!

You are really churning out those mini stockings. So cute. Your tree reminds me of Carriage House Sampling’s “Sally’s Feather Tree” chart.
I like the idea of hiding the little advent item around the house for the kids to find…I might try that one….I had forgotten how cute those tomtems were….they are really too much!
Oh my, you are moving right along. I think you will have 25 and 25 Christmas babes too. You’re so quick!
er, I meant sugar plum fairies.
I can’t believe how fast you’re cranking these out! They are wonderful.
They are all so cute, I couldn’t pick a favorite.
OmniGraffle? LOL! I think my favourite is the green with the red bird :-)
They are all really lovely!!
Was wondering if you have a pattern for the little tomtems…they would be a huge hit in the home of my children who believe in all things fairies, elves and brownies.
